The Morton Avenue Misfits Fall Cruise Night took place on Saturday, September 21. The event celebrated its 40-year anniversary.
Morton Avenue Misfits is the group that is now behind the local car show, having taken over in 2020 as a new group from the Jacksonville Cruise Night Association.
Current members of the Morton Avenue Misfits include Joel Buchanan, Mike McKean, Ryan Mason, Richard Lyons and Rick Carie.
Morton Avenue Misfits group member Joel Buchanan said of the recent 40th anniversary Fall Cruise Night: “Despite a brief rain storm, the 40th Anniversary of Cruise Night was a big success! We had a tremendous turn out of participants, spectators, and vendors. The kids Hot Wheels drag races gathered quite a crowd and even the adults appeared to be excited by the racing.
The Cruise itself had the largest number of spectators and participants than we’ve had in 12+ years!
Our raffle winners were Brent Hicks for the custom golf cart, Lora Griggs for the $500 and Buddy Fore for the $100.
