The Art Association of Jacksonville’s 59th Annual Beaux Arts Ball, themed “Glitz Glamour Gatsby,” was held Saturday, April 23, at The JHS Bowl. The coronation began at 7:45 p.m., followed by a reception at the David Strawn Art Gallery and a “Speakeasy” at Hamilton’s 110 North East.
For 59 years the Beaux Arts Ball has been the major fundraiser for The Art Association of Jacksonville. The arts are a valuable experience in everyone’s life and keep Jacksonville a vibrant community. The proceeds from the Ball go toward the presentation of monthly art exhibits by nationally and locally known artists, offering affordable adult and children art classes, preservation of three permanent historic art exhibits, and the overall upkeep of the beautiful and historic David Strawn Art Gallery. All events are open to the public and there is never a charge for viewing any of the exhibits.
