‘Family Feud’ event to take place April 19:
Think you got what it takes to compete on Family Feud? Now is your chance!
Jacksonville’s first Family Feud experience is coming to town Friday, April 19. Put together your dream team of family members, friends and co-workers, and reserve your spot!
Teams will battle head to head in our tournament style competition, with the winners getting the chance to play “fast money” and take home our grand prize!
Proceeds will benefit the Jacksonville Food Center.
Cost is $25 per player, teams of 4. Contact Ryne with any questions or to sign up at 217-320-1762.
Starts at 6 p.m. at K’s Creek Golf Club, with Ryne Turke as host of the event.
Additional info — This is going to be a true Family Feud experience, as close to the show as we can get! Ryne Turke will be surveying people in the area to collect data on all the questions for the event, which will range from food, entertainment, sports, Jacksonville and more.
Every round you win gets your team closer to fast money, where you can take home our grand prize! Spots are filling up fast.
Fans are more than welcome to come out to the event, there is no charge to watch — we just ask you make a donation of your choosing to the Jacksonville Food Center.
We are thrilled to be partnering up with them for this event and hope it can bring some much needed aid to the local organization over the summer.
Community Good Friday Service 2024 by the Jacksonville Area Conference of Churches — Bringing the Community Together on Good Friday:
Join together on Friday, March 29 at 12 noon for the Jacksonville Area Conference of Church’s Good Friday Service. Speakers and participants from churches throughout the area will come together on this notable day in the Christian year.
The event is hosted by First Presbyterian Church at 870 West College in Jacksonville, Illinois.
This year, the message will be presented by two area pastors: Polly Pulley from Spirit of Faith Soup Kitchen and Rev. Zachary D. Brooks of Trinity Episcopal Church.
A special addition to this year’s service is a sacred dance group from the St Louis Salvation Army, called Made to Worship. They will offer a special interpretation of Good Friday through movement and dance.
A free will offering will benefit Morgan County Unmet Needs. This organization brings together the charity support of local churches to share information and the resources to help people who fall through the cracks of financial assistance. This fund is administrated through the Jacksonville Conference of Churches, and partners with The Salvation Army and Prairieland United Way. Checks can be made payable to “The Jacksonville Area Conference of Churches,” with “Unmet Needs” on the memo line..
We hope to encourage the community to come together during this holy season.

Junior attendants to participate in Beaux Arts Ball:
The Art Association of Jacksonville’s 67th Annual Beaux Arts Ball, Summer in Santorini, is being planned for Saturday, April 27. Three children will participate in this year’s premier fundraiser for The Art Association as junior attendants.
This year’s junior attendants include Lennox Porter Davidsmeyer, son of C.D. and Kristen Davidsmeyer, Jacksonville; Parker Jackson Henry, son of Brett and Brittany Henry, Jacksonville and Millie Grace Schumacher, daughter of Kyle and Sara Schumacher, Jacksonville.
Patron and general tickets will be available online at strawnartgallery.org and at Illinois College Rammelkamp Chapel prior to the Beaux Arts Ball on Saturday, April 27, where the coronation will begin at 7 p.m. Immediately following the coronation at Rammelkamp Chapel will be entertainment by Trio de Groove and hors d’oeuvres at Jacksonville Country Club. Patron tickets are $50 and include admission to the reception, coronation and dance, while general tickets are $10 and include the coronation and champagne reception. An interpreter will be available upon request at the coronation for persons who are deaf or hearing impaired as well as handicap seating.

Beaux Arts Ball Belles and Beaus Announced:
The Art Association of Jacksonville’s 67th Annual Beaux Arts Ball, Summer in Santorini, is being planned for Saturday, April 27. Nine children will participate in this year’s premier fundraiser for The Art Association as belles and beaus.
