On Monday, November 10, the Sons of Chaos hosted a celebration of the U.S. Marine Corps’ 250th birthday at AmVets Post 100 in Jacksonville.
The evening was marked by tradition, honor and community as Marines and supporters came together to pay tribute to a legacy 250 years in the making.
The highlight of the event was the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake, performed with a traditional Marine Corps NCO sword — a powerful symbol of the Corps’ history and spirit.
In keeping with Marine birthday tradition, the oldest Marine present, Jerry Byal, was honored and offered the first slice, before passing it to the youngest Marine present, Chris Icenogel.
This Marine Corps cake-cutting tradition represents the continuity of generations and symbolizes the passing of wisdom, knowledge and tradition from one generation to the next.
The gathering also paid special respect to the bonds shared within the Marine community, with shared stories and honored memories.
Events like this one serve not just as a party — but as a living tribute to the courage, sacrifice and brotherhood that define the U.S. Marine Corps.
