Wes Hendricker, a lifelong rural Arenzville resident with innumerable hours of community service, is the recipient of the 2023 Blue Diamond Community Service Award, awarded by First National Bank.

Hendricker was born and raised in the Triopia/Arenzville area, has served selflessly in many roles for many decades. His work, dedication and service to those in our community has made him very deserving of this honor.

Hendricker is a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, serving in many roles. He is a member of the church leadership council, works with the radio recording ministry, serves as a lay speaker, and teaches Sunday school. He also helps lead the St. Peter’s men’s group that supports Christian missions throughout the world.

Of special interest, he is instrumental in The Triopia Food Pantry, which assists local families to meet basic needs when they are experiencing challenges or food insecurity. This ministry was initiated by his mother, Juanita, and he continues her program today.

One of Hendricker’s passions is sharing his faith through music. He’s an integral member of the gospel quartet “Two x Two,” which will celebrate 35 years in 2023. The group performs throughout Central Illinois and is well-known for their inspirational musical performances and harmonies.

He is a natural leader, serving as Triopia school board member and president for many years. He’s also served as board member of Green Pastures Campground, assisted at the Prairie Land Heritage Museum and actively supports the efforts of the Arenzville Burgoo.

Hendricker credits his late wife, Linda, for her support and teamwork on his many projects until her passing in 2021. Hendricker is proud of his two children, Josh (wife Jen) and Amy (husband Chris), and five grandchildren. His role as “Bubba” to his grandchildren is one of his fondest accomplishments.

First National Bank is proud to award Wes Hendricker with the 2023 Blue Diamond Community Service Award. The bank is honored to acknowledge community servants in our area, and he exemplifies those traits: putting others before ourselves.

Congratulations, Wes!
