Now is the time for Routt Catholic. Heading into the postseason on a seven game win streak, which saw the Rockets outscore their opponents 67-12, the Rockets are playing their best baseball of the year. Coming off a 30 win season, the Rockets have their eyes on a State Championship, and to do it, they’ll need some postseason heroics from their senior leader Nolan Turner. A three-year starter with a career 424 AVG and over 123 hits, Turner is the perfect table setter for the explosive Routt offense that led the WIVC in runs. Fellow seniors Isaac Long (5 HR) and Conrad Charpentier (2.10 ERA) bring plenty of postseason experience to the table for a very scary Routt Rocket squad. Turner will undoubtably go down as one of the top Rockets of the decade and a State Championship would be the perfect ending to a storybook career.
Why Routt can make a run
“All our guys put together quality at bats to get on base and put pressure on teams. We’ve got strength on the mound and that’s always crucial in the postseason,” says Long.
“We always play together and want to win no matter what. We’ve improved our hitting from the beginning of the season and are refusing to go down easy. We’ve got the team to do it this year,” says Turner.
