A PROCLAMATION
Whereas, the year 2025 marks the historic Bicentennial of Jacksonville, commemorating 200 years of remarkable progress, resilience, and achievement; and
Whereas, Jacksonville has a rich tapestry of stories to share, and together we will continue to write new chapters as we forge our future; and
Whereas, this Bicentennial is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reflect on our shared history, honor the contributions of our citizens past and present, and inspire future generations to carry forth the legacy of Jacksonville; and
Whereas, the Bicentennial Gala serves as the opening celebration of a year-long series of events, bringing together residents, leaders, and friends to commemorate this extraordinary milestone; and
Whereas, this gala represents the collective spirit of our community, showcasing the unity, pride, and aspirations that define Jacksonville;
Now, Therefore, I, Andy Ezard, Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, do hereby proclaim January 25, 2025 as the official kick-off to Jacksonville’s Bicentennial and urge all citizens to join in the festivities, celebrate our rich heritage, and participate in building an even brighter future for the next 200 years.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Jacksonville to be affixed this 25th of January, 2025.
