BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF CENTRAL ILLINOIS TO HOST TEEN JOB FAIR

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (BGCCIL) in partnership with Sangamon Co. Juvenile Justice Council and the City of Springfield, is hosting its 3rd annual Teen Job Fair and Resource Expo. The event will take place April 13th from 6pm to 8:30pm at The Boys & Girls Club’s Central Unit, located at 300 S. 15th Street.

This event will help connect local teens with summer opportunities including employment, camps and recreational services that are available to them.” said William Legge, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central IL

Job seekers can get help filling out job applications, may receive on the spot interviews, and have a chance to enter multiple prize drawings. The event features many local employers and youth service organizations. The job fair will also include free food and beverages sponsored by Chick-fil-a and Coca-Cola.

Our summer job fair and resource expo is a one stop shop for teens, unique to the Sangamon Co. area. With over 300 teens attending the expo in 2017, we are really excited about this year’s event. The expo has received positive feedback from both employers and area youth who attended. We are looking forward to an increase in teens and employers this year.” said Tiffany Mathis, Director of Development & Community Relations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central IL

This event is free to attend and geared toward teenagers 16-19 who are seeking employment or volunteer opportunities. Parents are also welcome to accompany their teen participant
