Takes home 2nd at first IHSA Girls State Wrestling

Brooklyn Murphy, a pioneer champion, takes home 2nd at first IHSA Girls State Wrestling: Brooklyn Murphy competed in the first ever IHSA Girls State Wrestling Championship, taking home second place in her 110 lbs. weight class. Murphy is a senior wrestler for the Jacksonville High School Crimsons. Competing in the inaugural IHSA Girls State Wrestling, Murphy carried a 19-12 record. She wrestled four more times over the state tournament weekend, February 25-26.

Murphy took victories in her first three matches, putting her in the IHSA 110 lbs. State Finals. She battled her way to a runner-up spot on the podium and a final record of 22-13. Teammate, freshman Alexis Seymour, brought home an eighth place IHSA medal. Congratulations on another spectacular season, Murphy.
