Local family heads to England to watch St. Louis Cardinals take on Chicago Cubs

Major League Baseball made its long-awaited return to the UK June 24-25, 2023, and Forrest and Helen Keaton of Jacksonville and their family were on hand to see the big event.
After the COVID-19 pandemic prevented them making a scheduled visit in 2020, the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals were finally able to cross the Atlantic for the game.
The rivals, based 334 miles apart, split the two-game series in front of more than 110,000 fans, many of them wearing shirts that read “I’d rather fly across an ocean than go to St. Louis to watch baseball.”
