Prairieland United Way held their 2nd annual Colors United 5k Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by Jacksonville Lawn Care, on Saturday, July 28, 2018. We had great attendance and raised over $3,000. The proceeds will benefit the 2018 United Way Campaign which will kick-off on August 30, 2018. There were also event sponsors to help make the event even more successful including, 1st National Bank of Arenzville, 1st National Bank- Beardstown, Winchester & Murrayville, Dick Cook – State Farm, Edward Jones Investments – Will Whalen, Journal-Courier, Nestle, Peak Insurance Agency, Prairie State Bank & Trust and The Medicine Shoppe. This was a non-timed event and the Top Male overall winner was Isaac Masters and Top Female overall winner was Megan Scott. Prairieland United Way serves Morgan, Cass, Scott and northern Greene counties and funds over 30 agencies who support critical health and human services needs in this area. Donations are collected annually from corporate foundations, employee groups and individuals. The United Way has several other community events planned to benefit the 2018 campaign including “Fuel Up for United Way” at Qik n EZ on Friday, Aug. 31, “Check out United Way” with County Market during the month of September and our annual Citywide Jeans Day which will take place on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018.
