The Traveling World War II Memorial was set up at Prairie Land Heritage Museum grounds in South Jacksonville September 10–13. The memorial consists of the “Wall of Freedom,” the Atlantic and Pacific Pavilions and the quotes on granite from President Franklin D. Roosevelt and General Douglas MacArthur.
The Wall of Freedom contains 4,048 stars, each representing 100 American soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and military personnel killed during World War II, which calculates to 404,800 American souls who lost their lives during Wold War II.
The Remnant Expressive Signing Team, friends and many of our Veterans are responsible for the building of this wonderful memorial.
