The Congregational Church UCC Christmas Bazaar and Soup Luncheon took place Saturday, December 10 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. On the chilly day, the church volunteers offered an assortment of delicious soups that appealed to the guests of the free-will donation luncheon. The wide selection of tempting soups included: broccoli cheese, butternut squash, mushroom bisque, minestrone, potato, tortellini, wild rice and mushroom and Sicilian meatball. Guests also enjoyed raw vegetables, water, tea, coffee and a variety of delightful desserts, including Texas sheet cake, apple pie, pecan pie and more. The annual luncheon also featured local artisans with crafts, antiques and pottery, in addition to a bake sale. The lunch was hampered, somewhat, when the elevator stopped working that morning of the luncheon, but many guests were able to get down the few stairs that were necessary to traverse.
