March 7, 2016 (Jacksonville, IL) – Discount Tobacco Warehouse, at 205 East Morton Ave in Jacksonville, is excited to announce it is changing its name to JB Hawks. While the name may be changing, the owners and staff, along with their dedication to pleasing customers with the largest selection of tobacco products at discount prices, will remain the same. In 2015, the owners of the previously named Discount Tobacco Warehouse made the decision to begin offering franchise opportunities. With this decision came the rebranding efforts under the new name of JB Hawks.
JB Hawks is more than just a discount tobacco store. It embraces the rich history of tobacco in America and the commitment to tobacco excellence. The initials “JB” pay tribute to James Bonsack, who facilitated the mass production of cigarettes with his invention of the cigarette-rolling machine in 1881, and also to James Buchanan Duke, the industrialist who modernized cigarette production with the first tobacco company in the country in 1890.
With a strong-rooted history in tobacco excellence and a commitment to service, it only made sense to bring in the acronym H-A-W-K-S, which stands for:

JB Hawks will continue to offer low prices on cigarettes, vape, e-cigarettes, roll-your-own, cigars and more. Despite the enormous selection of tobacco in the store, JB Hawks will also special order any hard-to-find brands for their customers. JB Hawks is different from other discount tobacco stores in the way it is merchandised and maintained. The store environment is clean and organized and managed by a staff of service-oriented individuals whose main focus is customer satisfaction.
JB Hawks at 205 East Morton Ave, in Jacksonville is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.

JB Hawks was founded on a long tradition of excellence. In 1930, Claude Ware, grandfather of JB Hawks’ founder Tom Ware, founded Wareco Gas Stations. Growing up in the Wareco family business instilled a number of values within Tom. In 2008, he brought those values to his own dream when he opened his first tobacco store in Jacksonville, Ill. Tom has brought the Wareco roots to the company by hiring Andy Frost as his acting Vice President and Mike Mayberry as Director of Operations. Brennan Davidson also joined the management team after running the Wareco Car Wash for several years. With a team of 85 excellent employees, they have grown the business to 15 locations across Illinois and Eastern Missouri and are now offering franchise opportunities.
