Local NAACP chapter hosts Jacksonville events
The Jacksonville NAACP branch 3017B held a unique and meaningful Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration this year, with a caravan of warm cars standing in place of the usual march down Church Street.
The event included a lunch and ceremony at Community Park, which is a great way to honor Dr. King’s legacy in a different, but still impactful, way. These kinds of community gatherings often provide an opportunity for reflection, unity and celebration of the progress made in civil rights, while also acknowledging the ongoing work still needed.
