Early Years Program

Early Years Program

The Early Years Program 0-5 celebrated two wonderful events this week. On Tuesday, December 5, the preschool program had its annual singing celebration at the Jacksonville High School auditorium, where 180 students performed songs for their families that they practiced in their classrooms. The children and families not only enjoyed the singing portion of the program, but also had a great time eating sugar cookies and visiting with one another. On Saturday, December 9, the children and families of the 0-3 program, which is a home-based program, enjoyed breakfast, family pictures and cookie decorating at MacMurray College dining hall. The 0-3 program has parent educators who go in to the homes of the children in the program and use a research-based curriculum to work with the children and families on developmental milestones. One hundred people were in attendance on Saturday. The Early Years Program is part of Jacksonville School District #117 and has been serving children and families in the district for over 30 years.
