Food Bank

  • Lori Large Oldenettal the event coordinator and Kiwanis Vice President Luke Worrell get the group ready for the event. Care were lined up 2 hours prior to the event starting.
  • The Jacksonville Kiwanis Club answered the call for help from the Central Illinois Food Bank with nearly thirty members showing up to volunteer on June 10th to help distribute boxes of dairy, vegetables and chicken to 250 households.

  • Kiwanis Member Pam Martin assisted in controlling the many cars coming into Jacksonville High School to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Keith Bradbury, Steve Turner and Mike Oldenettal were a few of the volunteer Kiwanis members on hand to assist in getting food distributed to many people while maintaining social distancing during a food giveaway.

The Central Illinois Food Bank and the Jacksonville Kiwanis Club teamed up for a Drive-up food giveaway and June 10, 2020. The event held at Jacksonville High School fed approximately 250 households. The event coordinator Lori Large Oldenettal said, “Volunteering is one of the reasons many of us have joined the Jacksonville Kiwanis Club. It was a great day to be among friends, helping to hand out food and volunteer safely together.”
