Local Polar Plunge raises nearly $1,400 for children’s hospital

It was a cold plunge into Mauvaise Terre Lake to start out 2024! All donations over $25 were given access to the New Year’s Day Polar Plunge.
Brave individuals dipped for dollars — all for charity. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Jacksonville/Morgan County Underwater Search & Rescue Dive Team and South Jacksonville Fire Department were standing by at the boat dock as well.
Organized by Elevated Ideas LLC, Plan C Supply and Essential Outdoorsman, the event did not hold a minimum for simply donating toward St. Jude.
Ryan Mason, owner of Elevated Ideas LLC, shared about the organizers of the fundraiser: “Yes, that is a group of my friends who have all started small businesses in the area. … Each year we gather for a “friendsgiving” and the idea of a polar plunge came up.”
Mason continued, “After a short discussion that night, we had a charity picked, and the backend coordinated to make it happen. We raised just under 1,400 dollars for St. Jude and got the community involved. It was a great start. We can’t wait to continue it as a tradition moving forward and grow the event!”
