The JHS Crimsons boys’ soccer team vanquished opponent Decatur MacArthur in their home conference game on Wednesday, September 13. At the finish of the first half, the Crimsons were ahead 5-0. The score was 7-0 at the end of the second period. Head Coach Evan Philpott had this to comment about the game: “Tonight was a good result for us and we were able to initiate quality attacks from our middle 3rd. Our forwards were able to find the seams and attack the space and create opportunities. It was a very physical game, so it was important we kept possession and played to our strengths and moved the ball quickly. Overall, it was a good performance and we are looking forward to a big game with Alton Marquette on Thursday.” Philpott is referring to the home game vs. Alton Marquette being played Thursday, September 15 at 5 p.m. (JV first).
