Jones Meat & Locker attended the 2025 “50th Anniversary” Illinois Association of Meat Processors (IAMP) Convention held in Effingham over the February 20-22 weekend.
One of the highlights of the convention for the local “Locker” was the statewide meat competition, in which processing plants from across Illinois went head-to-head in various categories.
Jones Meat & Locker not only placed in five categories, but also won two categories. They won the “Best Jerky” category with their Jones’ Original Jerky. Their second win was “Best Flavored Brat,” which was secured by their Pizza Brat.
Jones Meat & Locker thanked their team on their Facebook page, “A HUGE shoutout to Marty Cockerill for leading the charge—he handled everything behind the scenes, including all the cooking and prep work, to ensure our competition entries were top-notch. Also, a big thanks to Jeremy Stewart and his team for crafting the award-winning brat!”
Also during the convention, Jones Meat & Locker previous owner Terry Jones was recognized; he was honored with custom knives in recognition of his years of service to the industry and his role as a past president.
Owner Bob Stanton also shared via Facebook, “It was a proud moment for Jones Meat & Locker, and we had an amazing turnout with Terry, Marcy, Marty, Toni, Jeremy, Dan, and Micah (my son—so grateful to share this experience with him).
