Kiwanis’ Hixson recipient honored

In 1983, the Kiwanis Children’s Fund established the George F. Hixson Fellowship. Named for Kiwanis International’s first president, Hixson Fellowships are awarded to donors who give $1,000 or more to the Children’s Fund. It’s a way of recognizing people who have contributed significantly to Kiwanis’ history of generosity. The Jacksonville Kiwanis Club provides one Hixson award annually. This years recipient is Larry Armstrong. He stands with past Kiwanis Hixson Fellowship recipients. From left to right, Keith Bradbury, Kai Schnitker, Forrest Keaton, Kurt Heller, Steve Turner, Tom McKula, Bruce Surratt, Armstrong, Terry Maggert, Dick Cody, Brad Fellhauer and Jim Oliver.
