Be Aware Wellness Fair, Summerfest held at local park

Jacksonville’s Community Park was filled with activity on Wednesday, June 11 for the Be Aware Wellness Fair, held in conjunction with Summerfest 2025.
The events were a collaboration between Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce and Jacksonville Memorial Hospital respectively.
Free to the community, the afternoon was focused on community health and wellness. There were tons of activities and games for kids including Ferris wheel rides and a bicycle skills course. Prairieland United Way sponsored a food distribution and gave away free books in conjunction with their partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The Jacksonville Fire Department’s Fire Safety House was open as a valuable tool for teaching children fire escape methods. Many local vendors and organizations were present to share information about youth programs and summer camps, resources for families, healthy eating tips, mental health resources and more.
Sponsors included Prairieland United Way, The Salvation Army, Jacksonville Food Center, Spirit of Faith and Mia Ware Foundation, among others.
