Episode featuring Jacksonville’s Isaiah Case to air this Sunday

The wait is over! Keeping a secret is hard for a day or week — but try four months. One area resident can officially let the cat out of the bag.
Isaiah Case, 22, of Jacksonville, began his journey November 23, 2023, in Nashville in front of the judges on American Idol. Accompanied to the audition by wife Anna, he performed his original song entitled “What Could I Do” while playing acoustic guitar. “I auditioned before Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan,” stated Case. “I was excited, confident and nervous all at the same time!”
American Idol started in 2002 and ran for 15 seasons. After 2016, the show went on hiatus for two years, coming back in 2018 on ABC. For this season auditions were held in Los Angeles and Nashville, along with the judges’ hometowns of Tuskegee, Alabama (Richie); Santa Barbara, California (Perry); and Leesburg, Georgia (Bryan). “There are preliminary rounds before you make it before the celebrity judges,” Case remarked. “They dwindle that number down to make the televised cuts and I was blessed to be in that crew.”
Case expressed, “It was a tremendous blessing to be a part of the show that I grew up watching. … All of the Idol staff are amazing, from the executive producers to the camera men.”
He is not yet allowed to say how far he made it into the competition; however, shared Case, “But what I can say is tune in this Sunday, March 24 at 7 p.m. to find out if I got the infamous ‘Golden Ticket!’” This particular episode will be the final audition segment for the current season.
Case recently released his audition song “What Could I Do” and will be releasing more songs soon. The song is available on all streaming platforms.
Case lives in Jacksonville with his wife Anna and their son Judah. He is a worship pastor at First Christian Church in Jacksonville and considers his father, Perry Case, his biggest musical influence.
A great opportunity to see this young talent live locally with his family, The Case Band, will be this summer when they kickoff Jacksonville Main Street Downtown Concert Series on May 31, from 7-9 p.m.
“I’d love to fill my free time with playing shows, but more importantly I’m just following God’s lead in my life,” he concluded. “So, we will see what this opportunity brings.”
