To reinforce the dangers of distracted driving by teens, The Wireless Foundation has partnered with By Kids For Kids to create the “Drive Smart: No Distractions, No Excuses” program. The initiative challenged young people to create a Drive Smart Digital Short designed to discourage teens from distracted driving and using mobile devices behind the wheel.
Teens created a digital short Public Service Announcement to help educate peers about the dangers of driving distracted, in order to take a positive step to help keep friends and others safe on the road.
A winner was selected from each state. Maeve Hollahan, daughter of Mike and Lynn Hollahan, of Jacksonville, was the Illinois winner. She attends Routt High School. She received a check for $100.
