Several people, businesses recognized at annual meeting

The Jacksonville Main Street Annual Meeting was held on Thursday, February 6 at Hamilton’s in Jacksonville.
It was not only a time to recognize community members, volunteers and local businesses, but it was also a chance to celebrate the nonprofit’s 25 years of work to fulfill its mission “to enhance the quality of life, cultivate historic integrity, and help businesses thrive through partnerships and programming in downtown Jacksonville.”
The theme of the evening was “Celebrating our past, Focusing on our future.”
Looking to the future, JMS announced the newly elected officers to its board, who are president John Rohn and vice president Jeremy Coumbes. Continuing with reelection for another one-year term include secretary Keri Mason and treasurer Tim Flinn.
The following individuals and businesses were honored at the meeting:
• Cory Garner/ElCrow Photography was given the Illinois Main Street Lt. Governor’s Award in Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Volunteer Award.
• Miss Jacksonville Pageant (Emily Hudson, Calla Merriman and Claire Kaufmann) was given the Illinois Main Street Lt. Governor’s Award in Excellence in Downtown Revitalization in the Promotion category.
• Colleen Flinn was given the Jacksonville Main Street Community Spirit Award.
• Jason Hebron was awarded the Jacksonville Main Street Git ‘R Done Award.
• OutBreak Designs/Rick Rolson was awarded as Jacksonville Main Street Business of the Year.
• Emily Sliger was awarded as Jacksonville Main Street Volunteer of the Year.
Congratulations to all recipients. Jacksonville Main Street Executive Director Judy Tighe spoke to the great efforts made by so many others in the community as well.
