Member Fund Donation 2022

Illinois Electric Cooperative (IEC) Member’s Fund recently donated $2,500 to the Morgan County Historical Society (MCHS) Underground Railroad Committee to assist with the remodeling of their bathroom and to help make it handicapped accessible. This donation was made possible by participating IEC members paying an even dollar amount on their bill. For example, if a bill is $133.42, the member would pay an even $134, with the 58 cents in this example going to the IEC Member’s Fund. In all, about 4,800 accounts participated by contributing to the fund. The fund uses these proceeds to benefit activities throughout the cooperative’s service area. Since March 2000, the fund has distributed $861,000 to local schools, hospitals, churches, service clubs and charities.
