Meredosia native signing book on Saturday

Meredosia native signing book on Saturday

The M-C River Valley Public Library District at 304 Main St., Meredosia, is hosting a book signing, starting at 1 p.m. on September 18 at the library.

Dr. Thomas Newman, a former resident of Meredosia, has written a children’s book, “Friends in the Garden,“ about his dog, Lucy; his great-grandson, Aries; and his great-granddaughter, Isabella. Other characters in the book symbolize his children and his brother.

Please come and meet the stars of the book: Lucy, Aries and Isabella. Also present will be Newman’s creative consultant, Clair Dodson and his illustrator, Kaitlyn Mugg. Of course, the author himself, will be there.

Newman will have books to purchase. If you have bought one already, bring it and he will sign your copy.

Tom has donated other books he has written to the library.

“Southend Boys” is one of these books and it is about his life in Meredosia. Come to the library and check them out. We hope to see you Saturday, September 18, at 1 p.m.
