To the Editor,
The Pilot Club of Jacksonville extends a thank you to everyone who helped make the 33rd annual Holiday Home Tour a success.
Thank you to the families who so graciously opened their homes: Glenn and Gwenn Eyer, Steve and Susan Hardin, Debbie Ketcham, Noah and Angie Middleton and Dean and Judy Welch.
We are indebted to the Jacksonville Journal Courier, The Source, WEAI/WLDS, WJIL/WJVO and the Jacksonville Area Visitors and Convention Bureau for publicity. We thank Production Xpress for printing of the tickets, County Market for being a ticket sales outlet, Pilot husband Marty Austin for taking all of the photos of the homes for the tickets and Knollwood Retirement Village for allowing us to use their beautiful facility for our tea. Thank you to the Jacksonville Street Department for delivering No Parking signs to Pitner Place.
A special thank you to the following corporate sponsors: Robert Bonjean Law Office; The Honorable C.D. Davidsmeyer; Farmers State Bank and Trust; Hamilton’s Catering; Hertzberg New Method Book Bindery; Jacksonville Lawn Care; Jacksonville Savings Bank; Ronald R. Lynch, DMD; McDonald’s Family Restaurant; Passavant Area Hospital; Precious Jewelers; Westown Ford Jacksonville; anonymous donation; Robert Turner Agency and County Market.
We are grateful to Pilot husbands Kenny Wallbaum, who put out all the signage and then picked it back up, and Greg Yates, who cleaned homeowners’ sidewalks, since we had the first snow of the year that day.
Along with Pilot Club members, the following volunteers helped in the homes: Konnie Trace and Dorothy Brooks of the Kiwanis Club; Anchor Club members Maddie Robinson, Ellie Robinson and Liddy Weber; friends of Pilot Lori Jackson, Annie Jackson and John Meece; as well as several family and friends of the homeowners. Those who assisted at the tea were Lou Estabrook and three students from Westfair Christian Academy.
Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank Jacksonville and the surrounding communities for supporting our club with the purchase of tickets. All money earned stays here in the community to fund our various projects. We are very appreciative of the support you have given us the last 33 years.
Year after year, we hear people say that for them the holiday season starts with the Home Tour. To you we say Thank You and we hope you will join us December 3, 2017.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
