Morgan County is a community that is rich in history and tradition. First time visitors to this area see it with eyes different than those of us who have lived here for years. Visitors see old, magnificent homes, beautiful foliage, welcoming parks and quaint shops. They see the bricks in some of the streets and the growth at Illinois College as evidenced by the bright new red bricks. Last month I noticed a home on West State Street that I am sure I have never seen before. Just yesterday a friend visiting from Italy stated that State Street was one of the prettiest streets she had ever been on. Over the summer we will share some of these places with you through photography.
Khara Koffel will be joining the Source to photograph our community for the summer. In 2000 Koffel received her Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Arts and Art History from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and in 2003 a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Photography from the University of Alabama. Koffel is an Associate Professor of Art at Mac Murray College and has shown her work across the United States. She resides in Jacksonville with her husband Marc Benner and their son Jones.
From Illinois College to a farm out in the middle of the County, the Places You Will Go with Khara will entertain you for the summer!
