The program now supports 99 students with $3,000 per year for college
On Sunday, Sept. 22, the Jacksonville Promise held a public reception and awards ceremony at the Jacksonville Country Club for the 55 students receiving a first-year scholarship.
Speakers included Dr. Barbara Farley, president of Illinois College; Keri Mason, Director of Lincoln Land Community College at Jacksonville; and Dr. Charles Sheaff, president of the board of the Jacksonville Promise. This year the Jacksonville Promise is supporting 99 students. Currently, the Jacksonville Promise is supporting students for 3 years with up to $3,000 per year.
