Routt Catholic High School Alumni Association celebrated its 11th Annual Winter Ball. Alumni and friends gathered at Hamilton’s, February 21. Master of Ceremonies was Mark Whalen (’78). Sister Philip Neri Crawford, Routt Principal from 1983-1990, gave a brief welcome and the invocation. Mr. Nick Roscetti, Routt Principal, spoke to the group about current updates on the school’s Catholic Identity, Academics, Enrollment Management, and Finances of the school, and the next strategic planning with the Alliance of Catholic Education team, from Notre Dame University. Alumni awards were presented to the following: Business Friend of Routt – Leo’s Pizza; Friend of Routt-Kate Taylor; Routt Ambassador Award – Mike and Betty Goldasich; Catholic Education Distinguished Service Award – Sister Barbara Blesse,(’66); Marilyn Merris Distinguished Service Award – Paula Herget; Routt Alumni Citation Award – Katie Bergschneider (’77) Hembrough; Routt Young Alums of the Year – Brian Chumley (’90) and Jennifer Kafer (’95) Chumley; Routt Alumnus of the Year – Rose Chumley (’68) Fernandes. Each recipient was presented a plaque recognizing their service. Rose Fernandes is in her 31st year with Routt and was presented her award by Sister Philip Neri, who had hired her in 1984. The event concluded with live music by the Downtime Band.
