Santa made a special appearance at Arends-Awe locations in both Riggston and Perry this past Saturday morning. A live reindeer was a magical treat at the Riggston location, thanks to Nolan’s Petting Zoo. Not only was there Santa and a reinDEER, but also there was “John DEERe” everything that you could imagine for boys and girls. Marsha Awe believed that this was the 10th year to hold the “Santa Day at Arends-Awe, Inc.” Awe noted that the event is an “opportunity for us to do something for the community. It is great to see everybody come out and enjoy a fun morning.” The event is usually the first Saturday of December and that the holiday happening allows families to see Santa, have some refreshments and take part in the fun buzz of the day. Awe adds, “I’ve seen a lot of kids grow up seeing Santa since we started this.” That’s a present in itself.
- The shot is a common family image portraying the youngest who is a bit leery of the jolly, white-bearded man. The best part is that siblings Ian, Adalyn and Noah (L-R in the sleigh) were trying to cheer little sister on; Adalyn was even sharing her John Deere tractor gift with her little sister, Alivia, in attempts to coax her to join her family on the sled. Chelsea and Gabe Heinemann are the parents of the four children. Still, all worked out in the end, as Alivia (from the safety of Mom’s arms), double-checked with Mr. Claus that he had an “Elsa” doll written down for her; Santa assured her, “I’ve got it on my list.”

- Santa-hat clad Gabby, daughter of Matt Femmer and Cassie Allen, is excited about the “Bug Jug.” Young Gabby came with her grandparents, Rhonda and Alan Kircher for the morning trip to Riggston Arends-Awe,
- Alaina Freeman, daughter of Kaila and Jacob Freeman, discovers a toy tractor from the John Deere Prestige Collection. This 8360 R was just at her level and fun to check out.
