Westown Ford held a “Back to School Extravaganza” on Thursday, August 27. Leading up to the event on the 27th, (16) $100 bills were given away to students who came by Westown Ford to register; the students could use the money to buy school supplies and such of their choice. On the final evening of the “Extravaganza,” (5) $500 grand prizes were awarded to local classroom teachers that were registered by a student. The grand prize drawings spanned the evening, during which corn dogs, hot dogs, lemonade shake-ups, soda, popcorn and ice cream treats (from the big blue Bob Ridings • Westown Ford “candy cruiser” bus). Entertainment was provided during the event by the local rock and roll band, Geezer.
