The Source is pleased to announce its Business Education Partnership with Crossroads Learning Center in Jacksonville. Community partnerships have always been a major part of The Source, so it was a natural fit to take part in the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Education Partnership program.
The Education Division’s Business Education Partnership program encourages businesses and schools to work together to assure a positive educational environment.
Each partnership is unique and tailored to specific school needs of both the business and school. The Source will devote weekly staff hours during the school year and provide other services as needed to the Crossroads Learning Center.
“Our mission is to provide social and emotional learning to help find the triggers that causes behaviors so students can return and be productive members of their home schools,” says Jill Dillard, principal of Crossroads Learning Center, the only alternative school in district 117 for grades 5 through 8. “It’s like a flower, if it doesn’t bloom, you treat it with nutrients, water and sunlight. It’s a delicate recipe for a flower to bloom. We look for those missing ingredients to help the student become the student we know they can be.” Dillard says The Source will be a great component in that mix.
If a local business would like to participate in a Business Education Partnership, they are encouraged to contact the Chamber at 217-245-2174 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
