The perfect side dish or dessert for a fall evening.
Ingredients:
- 3 apples
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
- Cut apples into cube sized pieces.
- Place in a skillet with water. Cover and cook over medium heat for about five minutes, stirring occasionally until apples are slightly soft and water is absorbed.
- Add butter to skillet and stir until apples are coated.
- Cook for five minutes, or until apples are soft.
- Add maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Stir until well mixed.
- Cook about five more minutes, stirring occasionally until apples reach desired softness.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
