The Art Association of Jacksonville is pleased to welcome Josiah Brown to The David Strawn Art Gallery, 331 W College Ave., Jacksonville, December 7-22. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 6-8 p.m. with a “gallery talk” by Brown at 6:30 p.m.
Josiah Brown is currently a Jacksonville resident and he has enjoyed creating art as far back as he can remember. He likes to bring happiness, joy and hope to the lives of others through his artwork. His paintings are done with acrylic paint on canvas.
Brown’s work usually has a source of light in them which represents a feeling of hope and direction for the viewer. Brown typically creates paintings that feature a peaceful scene or a calm setting which conveys a serene place to visit in your imagination while viewing his work.
Brown feels that he is truly blessed and honored to be able to share his paintings.
Gallery hours December 8-22 are Sundays from 1-3 p.m. and Tuesday-Saturday from 4-6 p.m.
