Jack and Wilma Suttles of Jacksonville celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary on Nov. 3 at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Jack and Wilma were married November 3, 1945 at Central Christian Church by Rev William Askew. Jack Suttles is the son of the late Eldon and Mary Suttles of Jacksonville, and Wilma Suttles is the daughter of the late Elmer and Courtney Jackson of Roodhouse.
They are the parents of two children, Jerry Suttles (wife Eileen) and Donna Lowery (late husband Rich Lowery), both of Jacksonville. They have four grandchildren: Matt Suttles, Jeremy Suttles, Andrew Bell and Justin Lowery. They also have four great-grandchildren: Jake Suttles, Joe Verela, Jenna Verela and Angelique Lowery.
Mr. Suttles retired from Eli Bridge Company in 1990 after working there for 37 years while Mrs. Suttles retired from Jacksonville High School in 1988 after working in the cafeteria for 26 years.
