Sara’s Studio of Dance (SSOD) competed at Revolution Dance Nationals in Dallas on July 14-18. Several SSOD members placed in the top 10 in the solo division. Reese Brooks received 1st overall in the petite intermediate level, while also receiving 1st place for a photogenic award.
Jaycee Bates competed with her solo and received 1st overall in the petite advance level, 2nd in the improv competition and finally, she earned top honors as Petite Miss Revolution!
In the junior level solo division, Bella Evans received 3rd overall in 12-14 age group in the intermediate level. Lily Hickox received 9th overall in advance level.
In the senior level division, Emilie Bezler received 5th overall in the advanced level, 3rd in the title showdown, 2nd in the Improv competition, and finally, Emilie was chosen as the Future Star of the entire competition. For this, Emilie will have a write-up and picture in Dance Spirit Magazine. Ava Lahey received 4th overall in the advanced level and won 1st place in the title showdown and crowned Miss Dance America!
In the duet/trio division, Wanna Be – received 1st place overall in the 8 and under division, Bang-Bang received 2nd overall in the intermediate level and Little Things received 4th overall in the advanced level for the junior level. Finally, the trio When We Were Young received 4th overall and Unworthy received 3rd overall in the 15 and over advanced division.
The youngest dancers on the team, Dance Like Yo Daddy received 3rd overall in novice level age 8 and under.
Other accomplishments in the intermediate level include the following: Hit Me with a Hot Note – 1st overall, I Won’t Give Up – 2nd overall intermediate level, Sophisticated Ladies – 2nd overall in the 12-14 age range.
In the advanced level the team brought home: Fancy – 2nd overall in the 8 and under, Scars to Your Beautiful received 5th overall in the 12-14 level, In the Water received 3rd overall in the 9-11 level, and Ooh La La earned 2nd overall in the 12-14 age group. In the advanced level for 15 and up, the dancers from Sara’s Studio of Dance brought home: Chris Brown Mix 3rd overall, My Discarded Men 3rd overall, Wildest Dreams 4th overall, Don’t Talk 4th overall, Escalate 5th overall, Californication 5th overall, and Survivor 6th overall.
Finally, in the advanced level, this accomplished team received the following National Championships: Pink Cadillac 1st overall – 9-11 age group, Shake It Off 1st overall 9-11 age line group, Get Your Freak On 1st overall – 12-14 age line group, and Skin and Bones 1st overall 15 and over age group. The team took home 2 Victory Cups with the Latin Party for grand line age 11 and under in advance level and All My Love received a Victory Cup for senior level – age 15 and up in the advance level.
