If you like hunting for hidden treasures or unique gift items, you will love a new retail experience which opened its doors Tuesday, September 18, at 303 West State St. in Jacksonville, across the street from the Morgan County Courthouse. The owner of this new retail establishment is Jackie Williams Branscum. Jackie, born and raised in Jacksonville, moved away to Tennessee 40 years ago.
While in Tennessee, Jackie had a similar business, and after moving back to live closer to family she has decided to reopen The Rabbit Hole in the West State location. “It’s a new, used, vintage shop that carries everything from jewelry and glass items to antiques and collectibles,” Branscum said.
Her inventory includes items she has gathered from going to auctions, storage shed sales, close-outs and yard sales. Jackie added “There really is something for everyone. A variety of interests: things for children up through adult, male and female.”
The antiques right now include chairs, pictures, porcelain, fine china items and candlesticks. Eventually, she will be adding many stained glass pieces. She has quite of few items in storage and will eventually be adding to the store’s inventory. In addition to antiques, she carries extensive collectibles from the Dale Earnhardt, Sr. pieces, Linda Lou collectibles, crackle glass, Lenox crystal items and many hard-to-find things. She is carrying a variety of jewelry items as well including gold, silver and bronze pieces that run the gambit from costume jewelry through more expensive items.
The Rabbit Hole is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and you can reach them by phone at (217) 245-8500.
