Triopia Junior High School Boys Basketball, under the leadership of coach (Sheriff) Devron Ohrn and assistant coach Kirk Strubbe won the 2A Regionals.
The Triopia Trojans 7th grade basketball completed season with a record of 21-7.
They played in the regional held at Waverly and posted wins against Bunker Hill and West Central before moving to the championship game where they were victorious against Hardin Calhoun.
As regional champions, they advanced to sectional play at Pawnee. At sectionals, the Trojans played a close, hard-fought battle against Kinkaid South Fork. They were defeated 31-30.
The last time a Trojan 7th grade team won a regional championship was in the 2000-2001 season.
