For the first time in over 25 years, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) has two officers attending the police academy at the same time: newly sworn in Deputy Gabriel Mullink and Deputy Lee Crumb. The deputies attend the police academy full time at the Southwester Illinois Police Academy, one of seven certified police academies in the State of Illinois.
Mullink, a White Hall Native, came to Jacksonville to attend MacMurray College in 2018. He became a member of the MCSD corrections team in 2019. Crumb, of Jacksonville, has been with MCSD corrections since 2019. Sheriff Mike Carmody stated, “It is great to start two solid deputies at the same time and provide an even broader safety coverage to Morgan County. Deputies Mullink and Crumb will be great additions to our team.”
