Winchester’s Hometown Christmas

The revitalization efforts and work being done on the town square in Winchester by the Winchester Civic Group among others is showing. Though chilly, the sun was shining for Winchester’s annual Hometown Christmas event on December 2. “Bigger and better than last year, Christmas is in the air with the help of Winchester merchants and the Winchester Civic Group,” read the signage promoting the event. The day featured many aspects: crafts, vendors, raffles and drawings; a cookie walk; a “Breakfast with Santa” for children and families; a quilt show; plus, many vendors and activities which were located around the town square and nearby buildings. “I’ll tell you what,” said Winchester Mayor Rex McIntire, “from the wreaths and the decorations … everything … it’s all really nice.”
