Chase the winter blahs away at the Bob Freesen YMCA on February 5 at the first annual Winter Soirée. YMCA members can chase those winter blues away with exercise at the YMCA every day, which is proven to be a mood elevator. However, the entire area-wide community is invited to live it up a little during an evening of music, dancing and on February 5 from 6 p.m. through midnight. The Winter Soirée ticket price is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Since alcohol will be served the event is restricted to those 21 and over.
As guests arrive through the doors of the Y that evening each will be greeted by YMCA staff and volunteers and can check winter coats at the door. The ceilings are already decorated with snowflakes made by our very YMCA Afterschool program!
Guests will be invited to grab some of the delicious hors ‘d oeuvres catered by Thrifty Sisters, a cocktail and browse through the assembly room which will be transformed into a silent auction area with a wonderful array of 26 packages on which to bid. “We have lots of packages for all interests including a Reynolds basket, a Kentucky Derby basket, a Recycled Cottage Paint Class, an Italian baroque Wood table lamp with faux painted finish and gold leaf, youth sports package which includes bicycle accessories to private swim lessons, and many more amazing packages,” said co-chair Barbara Gross. Gross and Angie Bruner are co-chairs of the Winter Soirée.
