Give me an “A!” Then, go ahead and give me the W-E-S-O-M-E! Cheerleading teams from Jacksonville Middle School (JMS) and Our Saviour School (OSS) gave their best, resulting in top notch performances at the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Cheer Championship.

Held at Peoria High School on Saturday, January 22, JMS Cheerleaders won the state championship for the Large Team Cheer Cheerleading category, calculating a top score of 90.23. Their routine showed enough polish that the subsequent five schools’ totals ranged from 82.60 down to 65.50.

Impressively, an overall score of 91.75 points also won JMS the championship in the Medium Team Routine Cheerleading category.

OSS finished just fractions of a point from first place in the Small Team Cheer Cheerleading category, ending with a second-place score of 83.40 in comparison with the first-place winner, Glasford Illini Bluffs, who tallied 83.67.

Congratulations to both local teams, coaches and families.
