Hopkins HERO WOD

Members of the Jacksonville community, including two Illinois State Troopers participated in the Hopkins HERO WOD on Saturday, June 26th at The Redbird.

This workout is in memory of Trooper Nick Hopkins who was shot and killed in the line of duty on August 23, 2019, while serving a search warrant in East St Louis.

Trooper Hopkins was member of the Illinois State Police SWAT Team. Nick, of Waterloo, IL, left behind his wife Whitney and their 4 children.

Whitney and other community members went on to create Foundation 6141 in Nick’s memory. The foundation will focus on supporting families in their time of need. Nick dedicated his life to serving not only his state, but also those around him. His servant heart lived by the famous Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, “You cannot do a kindness to soon…”.

Saturday’s event had well over 700 participants throughout the State of Illinois. Following the mission of Nick’s foundation, those participants ‘showed up and gave back’. May we all be challenged to give back in the memory of Trooper Nick Hopkins who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Gone, but never forgotten. #6141 https://foundation6141.com/
