New event in Petersburg promises one-of-a-kind night

Terror on the Square presents “Illusions, Magic and Spirits on Stage” this October. This brand-new show for 2021 will take place in the beautiful, art deco Salem on Seventh Theatre, located on the west side of Petersburg’s square.
This unique show will have magic based on spirits and ghosts, while it mixes in a short movie, a creepy poetry reading and other spine-chilling surprises. Shawn McKinney, the show’s owner and operator, explains the idea was inspired from the “ghost shows” of the 1940s. “We have a talented group of people that want to entertain during the Halloween season, and we also have this art deco-style theater, so we decided to do something fun and different this year.”
Ghostmaster and professional magician for over 35 years, Eldon Roark, will be entertaining with his incredible magic during this one-of-a-kind show. This will not be as terrifying as walking through a haunted attraction, but this show assuredly will be creepy, leaving the audience amazed and haunted by events that would not seem possible unless there were a spiritual world.
Of note for Terror on the Square fans, there may be some good news by showtime concerning the 2022 Halloween season. This news will be revealed and confirmed at some point during this macabre performance.
Concessions will be available in the lobby and the Terror Gift Shoppe will also be open during this “Illusions, Magic and Spirits on Stage” event. Currently, masks are required at this event per state mandate.
There will be six nights of shows in October, with two shows each night at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. These unique shows will be on Fridays and Saturdays, starting October 15 and 16. The next shows will be October 22 and 23, with the final shows being October 29 and 30.
