A nurse practitioner with the experience and background in many dermatology-related procedures brings her knowledge to a new practice opening its doors to the public May 22 from 1-4 p.m.
Emerge MediSpa & Wellness Center, PLLC is located at 1515 W. Walnut St. in suite 3A. Care will be administered through Mischaela Aring, APRN, who is currently serving as a nurse practitioner at a Memorial Care, an urgent care in Springfield. Aring holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. John’s College of Nursing and a master’s in nursing with family nurse practitioner from OSF St. Francis College of Nursing.

Many services will be available at Emerge. “It is a pleasure to offer my skills to the citizens of Jacksonville and the surrounding area. To my knowledge, a couple of services will be new,” comments Aring. One such service is laser hair removal with a Cynosure Elite IQ 755 laser, with YAG and Alexandrite lasers, not to be confused with IPL lasers. This is considered the gold standard for hair removal, she says. With the type of lasers Aring uses, it is safe for all skin types. She uses a melanin reader that is a patented device used to measure and adjust according to skin type to prevent burning of the skin. This is the only FDA approved melanin reader on the market.
Another technique new to Jacksonville will be microneedling with radiofrequency. This procedure is a minimally invasive, nonsurgical scan rejuvenation technique that can treat a variety of skin concerns such as uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores and poor facial skin laxity. Aring explains, “I use the Cynosure Potenza device. This has all the benefits of microneedling with radiofrequency added to deliver thermal energy to deeper tissue, causing tissue contraction.” Heat energy triggers the body to produce collagen and promote the health of the current elastin. This process helps to promote skin tightening through soft tissue coagulation.

Other procedures she will offer at Emerge are pigmented lesion corrections, superficial vein reduction, sun damage correction, wart treatment, neurotoxins, dermal fillers and chemical peels. “My VI chemical peels are safe for all skin types and are virtually pain-free compared to other TCA peels. This means little downtime, less pain and same results,” she concludes.
Emerge MediSpa & Wellness Center will be open by appointment only. Some services are available to people as young as 16 and others are only available for patients 18 years and up. Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No insurance will be accepted. To schedule an appointment or view their many procedures and products, visit emerge–medispa.com.
