Prairieland United Way exceeds $465,000 goal

Special to The Source

The 2022 Prairieland United Way campaign, “Symons Say: Give Where You Live,” has concluded and surpassed its goal of raising $465,000. “A very sincere thank you to all of the individuals, companies, communities, and partner agencies for your generous contributions. You all prove time and again what an incredibly caring community this is,” said United Way Executive Director Karen Walker.

The 2022 campaign chairs, Stephen and Cammie Symons, added, “The things that Prairieland United Way does are incredible. We were so excited and humbled to be asked to chair the campaign this year and to be a part of such a great organization. I don’t know if we really believed that we could reach the goal or not, but to see that it’s happened really makes us feel good, we’re really happy to be a part of this.”

All money raised in the United Way campaign stays in the local community to help support the local human service network.

Prairieland United Way will wrap up the 2022 campaign with the “Annual Meeting & Awards Program” on April 12 at 4:30 p.m. at Waters Edge Winery, 1061 E. Morton Ave. in Jacksonville. The community is invited to attend; ticket cost is $10. Reservations are required by calling 217-245-4557 or by emailing info@prairielandunitedway.org by April 7.
