This event is held annually with Japanese exchange students from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. The festival includes Japanese food, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Admission was free, and the public was invited to attend. Each spring 25 Japanese students come to live and study for four weeks and live with host families for part of the time and with current IC students on campus in residence halls for the remainder of their stay. Many local host families were there as well as Illinois College students and other interested area residents.
