A decorated and lighted sign welcomed guests into the upstairs room of designer Christmas trees, as Old Saint Nicholas awaited your entrance in the background. In the basement below of the fundraiser’s venue, the merriment continued. There were displays of sweet goodies, cookies and edible treats for purchase, as well as crafts for children. Friday evening of the event, members of the Jacksonville AMBUCS volunteered to serve various dinner items for sale, as local musician Robert Sampson provided musical entertainment. The cheery and festive holiday songs prompted some holiday dancing, as well. AMBUCS members John Ford and Jean Spotts cavorted harmlessly. As the recording by Brenda Lee caroled, “Rockin’ around the Christmas tree, Have a happy holiday, Everyone dancin’ merrily, In the new old-fashioned way.”
